Rice Paper Dumplings

Updated: Jul 26, 2022

I’ve been wanting these for a while so today I made it happen! This recipe makes 18-20 dumplings.

Ingredients for dumplings:

1.5 pounds ground pork

2 medium shredded carrots

2 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons sesame seed oil

4 cloves garlic chopped

Three cubes frozen ginger

1 tablespoon chopped green onion

1 tablespoon chopped cilantro

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon pepper

18 rice papers

Dipping Sauce:

1/3 cup green onion

1 cup soy sauce

1/2 cup avocado oil

3 cubes frozen ginger

5 cloves garlic chopped and sautéed in avocado oil

1 tablespoon chopped cilantro

1/2 tablespoon honey

1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds

How to

Dumplings:

You can use ground pork for this recipe but I ground mine myself! If you want to do that chop up 1.5 pounds of pork and add it to your food processor with the frozen ginger cubes until meat is evenly chopped to your desired size.

Next shred your carrots, chop your onion, garlic, and cilantro before adding it to the bowl of meat.

Before mixing add your seasonings, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Set aside while you cut and dip your rice papers.

For the rice paper you will want to use one whole sheet per dumpling. I like to cut them in half and double together to it’s thicker and the paper doesn’t rip while it’s cooking.

Dip them in water for just a few seconds before placing the meat in the middle and folding into a square. (As seen in the video)

Once all 18 are done, heat up a pan on medium with sesame oil and cook for 4 minutes on each side or until they are nice

And crispy. It doesn’t hurt to check one to make sure the meat on the inside is fully cooked!

Sauces:

Surprise! I’m including the sauce I made for the chicken and veggies to be cooked in too! I made the dipping sauce and sauce for the chicken the same way, I added everything to my blender and blended until smooth!

Only difference is the garlic in the dipping sauce was pre sautéed in a bit of avocado oil so it wouldn’t be as strong.

Thank you for visiting and I hope this recipe is something you can enjoy!
