Ingredient: Three cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoon instant yeast
1 1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 1/2 cups Lukewarm water
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup salted butter
1 tablespoon dry rosemary, basil, and thyme mix
How to:
I make this bread with a wooden spoon and my hands. No mixer needed!
First mix your flour, salt, sugar and yeast together in a large bowl. Then add your water and mix together until you have a sticky ball of dough.
Cover your bowl and set in a warm area for about 2 hours or until it doubles in size.
Use your hand to reshape the dough into a ball, pour your olive oil on the top, and turn your dough to evenly coat it in the oil.
Next put your dough into a buttered bread pan (1/4 cup butter) and let rise again for an hour.
Once it’s ready, melt your other 1/2 butter and mix it together with your herbs.
Brush this mixture on top of your loaf and add the loaf to the oven at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.
Once it’s finished take the loaf out of the pan right away and let cool. You can wait to cut it but if you are like me it’s too tempting and I cut right away!
I hope you enjoy this delicious and simple peasants bread!
